Keeping your system updated is essential for security, performance, and compatibility with the latest tools we use. In most cases, your system will be set to automatically update when an update is available.
However, it's good to know that you can check to install updates by following these steps:

Click on the Start Menu and Click on Settings.

Or

Type "Check for Updates" into the Start menu and click on it instead.
Click on Windows Update in the left hand menu.
A status on this page will indicate whether you are up to date or not. Click on the Check for Updates button if the last checked date is before today.
If any updates show as available after clicking on Check for Updates, click on Download and Install All.

Note: It is typically recommended to perform updates before the start of the day or at the end of the day, as it may impact performance.
A message to reboot might appear. Make sure to save your work before agreeing to reboot.
